Captain Marvel has screened to select members of the press ahead of its March 4 premiere to positive reactions. We Got This Covered previously released an article describing the two scenes, but has since taken the information down due to a request from Disney.
A source has been able to corroborate the scene descriptions for us and we can now confirm them. The descriptions are below, but please note that they are spoilers for Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.
Scene 1:
The Avengers are inside a lab at their headquarters. They read data and then become unsettled as they lose contact with something. The scene then slowly reveals Carol Danvers, suited up as Captain Marvel, appearing behind them.
Scene 2:
Goose the Cat climbs up to Nick Fury’s empty desk and spits out the Tesseract.
Yes, you’ve read that last sentence correctly. The Tesseract plays an important role in the plot of Captain Marvel and Goose swallows it earlier in the film.
The scenes follow a pattern similar to that of other MCU films, such as Ant-Man and the Wasp or Thor: Ragnarok, in which the first post-credit scene is more “serious” and sets up future films whereas the second is more humorous and not integral to the plot.
Captain Marvel opens in U.S. theaters March 7th.
