Aurora Movie Theater At Which 2012 Shooting Occurred Is Not Showing “Joker”

While Joker is set to arrive on over 4,300 screens across the country tonight (a immensely high number for an R-rated film), it won’t be shown in one Aurora theater.

Century Aurora and XD, a 16-screen multiplex in Aurora, Connecticut run by the cinema chain Cinemark, was the site of a mass shooting on July 20, 2012 which killed 12 and injured 70. Tonight and this weekend, while other Auora theaters are playing the movie, Century Aurora and XD will not.

Another Cinemark theater approximately 5 miles away will be the closest to carry the movie.
